"No Country For Old Men" Welder reference

Watched the movie last night and saw this exchange between two characters. Wells was played by Woody Harrelson.

I can't really recommend the movie but this was sort of funny and at least shows some knowledge of welding on the part of the writer:

I love the ones that show what is supposed to be welding and there are more sparks than an arc gouger. And the ones with the cutting torch and a welding hood cutting through a safe (although I have done that).

Yeah I saw that movie also and had to chuckle at that scene. I believe soon afterwards a man asks Moss where all the money is and he says something to the effect of "Blew it all on *****s (prostitutes) and liquor" or something like that...definitely a welder alright, haha.

Was watching a movie a few weeks ago (forget the name) and they were cutting the back off a safe with a gas setup. As they removed the back of the safe all there was incide was paper wrapped boxes of dope. Ha! My OL even picked up on that one. Not a single package was even singed.

I was watching that movie with a buddy and my wife, and I said something about it being based on a novel. Later my buddy Kenny said "did you say that this was based on a true story?" I replied that no, it was a novel, but that it will be a true story one day when I find 2mil and then take on a bad *** assassin. Right after that was the scene when he says he's a welder, so I took that as a sign and now my wife is freaked out. I'm just waiting for the money now.

It wasn't a movie but I remember an episode of the Munsters where Herman & Lilly both secretly took side jobs welding at the shipyard.

The bank job had a Oxy-lance in it. Absoulutly an awsome movie and a true story as well.

Animal House. Where Flounder let his brothers car get cut up for the pirate/tank float. CLASSIC.

Appocalypse now has a seen were you can see some welders working on rebuilding a bridge, some more "sparklers" for yah. Then later on the welders get blown up when the bridge is hit by a mortar.

Oh, there is also the scene in Charlie's Angel's Full Throttle (Don't ask ) where the girls disguise themselves as welders at a ship yard. Looks like they might actually be welding in the scene.

I am not much of a TV or movie person but as a car guy and someone who hangs out here I MUST tell you to see Worlds Fastest Indian. I have been that guy, Know that guy, Or sometimes still wish I was him. See it. You have been him. Jeff
