Here are two pictures of me doing a 4" sch 160 316L stainless tie in for an injection well. The second picture is of my thumb after I pinched it in one of my pipe stands between the head and the piece of cold rolled that is supposed to keep you from getting pinched (6 stitches) That is why all you new welder's should practice welding with both hand's . The stitches were in my right hand and I could run beads with it , It hurt like h-ell so fortunately I can weld with both hands and never missed a day's work.

hope your finger heals ok.......
curious. is that going to be a full tig weld on that pipe, or will you fill it in with arc / stick filler ?
if so, will it be with 7018 ?
thanks much........Syncrowave® 200

our teacher told us about tig root and 7018 cap, but have not learned anything about stainless caps yet.

Likewise, we simply use a good quality masking tape. I was just asking to find out if you had any need for an exotic tape. Apparently not. Thanks
