  • What's The Right Angle For Overhead Welding?

    Hi Guys (Newbie Here Again)

I'm about to be doing a bit of over-head mig welding.

I'm new at this, done flat and vertical outcome not bad.

I rather get it straight from you expert who've done mig over head.

    QUESTIONS PLEASE:

    1. What angle is best when doin' the over-head ?

I'm welding 18 gauage sheet metal for my restoration.

    2. What HEAT & VOLTAGE setting would you guys use ?

    Thanks guys
    GOD BLESS

You use the angle that keeps the hot sparks from running down your arm. There is no textbook answer to your question because every job is different and its hard to tell if you are coming from a corner or running into one or just welding a bead so you will have to adjust to each weld...Bob
