Inverter Mig welders

Why are there no inverter based mig machines? There's Inverter technology in TIG and plasma but mig machines are still transformer based.

My bad. I was looking at the product pages and they don't really say they are inverter machines. I thought the 350 would be a lot smaller too...like comparing the dynasty to the synchrowaves.

I'd say the size on an inverter mig is more governed by being able to house a big spool of wire over the electronics inside it. if you wanted to deal w/ 10lbs spools all day, I'm sure the 350P could easily be the size of a MM140.

I think the OP is looking at all-in-one MIGs more than CC/CV power sources. So, for Miller, that would be the Passport and the MM350[P].

Otherwise my decades-old PowCon 300SM with a feeder fits the bill nicely, too.
