Nice. Love old jeeps. My daily driver is a beat up old jeep...not as old as that one though.

I had a '76 CJ5 with the 304 engine. It suited me well until I turned real sharp and she rolled over. Just bought a new Renegade that is a rebranded Fiat made in Italy...Bob

Yup just shifting can put you in the patch if you catch a little ice with a short wheel base. Just trying to catch my youth, mid life crises. Really is a purpose built vehicle . But when I'm maxxed out doing a blistering 50 miles a hour time slows down. Good for the soul. I will have to google your fiat.

Black Renegade Trail Hawk. Put just over 100 miles on it in the first month...Bob

Just sold my 1974 Jeep CJ5. I put a GM-style HEI ignition in it, too. It's going to a friend of a friend in Florida. Now just to figure out how to get it there in a the next month or so, from Nevada!

Well, it is a jeep, so it just might take a month to drive it there. <br />

My first vehicle was an 83 scrambler. Loved that thing. Ugly as ****. It was perfect. Wish I still had it.

Would be fun to take a rust free southwestern Wrangler or CJ and swap in a Mercedes OM-617 Turbo Diesel....

My neighbor has a rust free late 70's Jeep from Az. That thing is mint. The transfer case was messed up when he got it 3 or 4 years ago. It had Renault trans parts in it and he found a new gear and got it all fixed. Guess AMC and Renault had something going at one time...Bob

The old Jeeps are a real mix of parts right from the factory. My 76 has the longer fenders then the year before. But the inside of the front fenders is still from the year before. The shock mounts are behind the cut outs in the fender. Remember the old camel adds. The cool dude on a rope bridge with his jeep? Well a lot of water has gone under that bridge but when the top is off and I'm rippen down the road it just feels right. This one was frame off and such things like the screw heads were powder coated to match body paint. They have their faults but they are like a bull dog so ugly that they are cute.

I had a 1977 CJ7 Golden Eagle, It had 258 straight 6. Not fast, but if you aired down the tires it would climb a wall. Bought her brand new $6700 out the door. I miss that ol' girl.

I'm in the same boat except that for me, unless I had had a huge warehouse to store them in, they would all be mostly heaps of rust that used to have the potential to be valuable.---Meltedmetal

I bought this 1964 Ford Fairlane 29 years ago for a future project. Been in the garage all the time I have had it. I have been collecting parts just need 2 glass fenders. Started a 2x3 chassis but my basement flooded and the tube started rusting on the inside so I scrapped it. Plan on a drop straight axle and a 429/auto when I get that far. But I am 1/2 way there...Bob
