Based on my experience, Race car fab shops like xxxsh Racing dont pay the best, a lot of young guys do it for low money just to brag who they work for.

After doing my first and only roll bar I gave up on race cars, The owners are extremely picky and want you to work for cheap, you really have to get known in the industry to make good money.

Not that I wont work on Race cars from time to time, but I could care less about getting my name out there, I cant compete with a 22 year old kid working out of his parents garage that is happy making $ 400.00 to do a cage and frame connectors.

Good luck to whoever gets a job there.

A bud of mine who is into Nascar was poking at me to do frames etc. While the work isn't a problem and in some cases we may be able to do better we are not in that biz, not near it and I agree, way to competitive for the reward.
I went thru this a bit with a college instructor at a leading outfit. I said,,, you got all these tig nascar pics on the wall here with 1 or 2 that did go on to this but when you look out at the job posting board not 1 offer,,,, outfits like Chicago Bridge and Iron is more real and gonna be a whole new experience for that cute 5'3 brunette.
They are selling a welding program where about 1 in a hundred actually go to motorsports.

May be a good foot in the door and great place to polish some fab skills,. Nice to see it offered up here. It looks like a solid outfit that hires journeymen.

Looks like inside work. Probably ideal for a young sprout really loves to weld. If its custom/proto some of it would be fairly easy but they don't much want us over the hill types.
Florida is not terrible if a guy works indoors most of the time. There is some top of the game work there. A sheetload of small biz with characters from everywhere too. Some them are worth the experience for a bit even if the money isn't great and a handy guy could change jobs every week forever.
