I had a buddy make me carbon lid. We are probably going make a couple more if your interested I can give you guys a his contact info. This was a fun project that turned out real well. Thought guys might dig it.

i made up one of those when i was back in school. didn't have a vacumn to get a nice form though.
came out nice, but the way my helmets geth thrown around, the finish would be destroyed in a week.F450 crewcab flatbed

I dunno that i'd want it in that shape...but if you could make a contoured one like the optrel satelite i'd be all over that. I weld in tight spaces far too often to use one of those...Precision is only as important as the project...if you're building a rocket ship...1/64" would matter. If you're building a sledgehammer...an 1/8" probably wont.

Carbon Fiber is Conductive..
Guys..
as cool looking as that is.. just be aware that carbon fiber is electricly conductive.. and may pose a shock hazard in some situations..
